SMART CITY LOGISTIK

DAKO promotes cultural projects and rural development. This includes the provision of resources for the commercial use of electric vehicles and the development of an associated system platform, in project SMART CITY LOGISTIK . Future-oriented concepts should not only serve cost optimisation through the use of renewable energies, they should also ease environmental problems such as air and noise pollution. We therefore work closely together with partners from science and industry.

The aim of the SMART CITY LOGISTIK project is an open system platform, which facilitates the most efficient use of electric vehicles within inner-city goods transport.  The consortium consists of DAKO alongside 5 Thuringian IT and logistics companies, as well as Erfurt University of Applied Sciences and the Friedrich-Schiller University of Jena.

The Thuringian consortium started its project work in July 2013, after submitting a successful application within the framework of the technology competition “ICT for electromobility II” of the Federal Ministry of Economics, and thereby gained a funding approval worth a value of approximately EUR 4 million over the coming three years for implementing the development concept. The total volume of the research and development project reaches almost EUR 7 million.

Among the results of the project, trade and logistics companies have access to services tailored to electromobility-specific processes and linked to an internet platform for existing IT logistics systems for intelligent fleet management. With this research programme, new concepts and technologies are now being developed until the end of 2016, for the interplay between intelligent vehicle technology in the electric car (Smart Car) with energy supply (Smart Grid) and traffic control systems (Smart Traffic) based on information and communication technology (ICT).

sMobilityCOM

In the framework of the technology competition “IKT für Elektromobilität III” of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, DAKO is part of the research project sMobilityCOM. Within the next three years DAKO and other project partners develop an integrated and proactive charge- and deployment management for e-mobility based cars or vehicle fleets.

Therefore, DAKO uses innovative results of former research projects like SMART CITY LOGISTIK. In this project a platform was developed that links all technical systems which are relevant for electric mobility and that shows the efficiency of electric vehicles in inner-city delivery traffic.

With project sMobilityCOM, DAKO and its partners want to make the usage of electric vehicles in business environment more economical. An important aim is to cut the costs of electricity down by using self-generated electric power for instance from PV systems. In addition, the operating cost advantage shall be extended by the development of multiple use concepts. The first trial is being realized together with up to five application partners of the mobile or outpatient care service. Thereby, DAKO and the project partners will extensively support the care services in developing and subsequent managing of electric fleets.

During the successful implementation and trial of the project, the bundled competences of all partners are available. sMobilityCOM also benefits from the expertise of the envia Mitteldeutsche Energie AG, the INNOMAN GmbH, the Fraunhofer IOSB–AST, the MCS – MICRONIC Computer Systems GmbH as well as of the HKW-Elektronik GmbH. Leader of the Consortium in the project is INNOMAN GmbH.

eMobilityCity

eMobilityCity is a network for integrated electric mobility with the aim to move this issue forward within Thuringia. This is meant to be achieved by developing solutions for battery-charging, IT and consultancy systems as well as vehicles under one roof.

After a successful application for the Central Innovation Programme for medium-sized enterprises (ZIM) the network started working in September 2015 and received a commitment of support for the next three years. Within these three years the network wants to install 300 vehicles and 150 charging points in Erfurt and to integrate specific marketing and operator concepts.

The following partners of the network also support the development of electric mobility in Thuringia: the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, DAKO, EcoLibro GmbH, eLOG Systembetrieb GmbH, EPSa GmbH, Capital of the Land of Thuringia Erfurt, the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt, Fraunhofer IOSB-AST, Friedrich Schiller University Jena, HKW-Elektronik GmbH, IMMS GmbH, Navimatix GmbH, pwp-systems GmbH, SWE Energie GmbH, TAF mobile GmbH and the Ilmenau University of Technology.

The network and its products profit from the results of former researches like SMART CITY LOGISTIK and sMobiliTy. In addition, there will be several initiatives which support companies with the acquisition of electric vehicles. The first two initiatives are called ‘eFlotten-Initiative’ and ‘eMobilitäts-Initiative’. Especially companies that operate at least 5 electric vehicles are beneficiaries of this integrated service. But also interested regional companies will be supported and advised with fleet analysis and mobility analysis as well as with specific proposals of implementation.
